Sample 90 Minute Training Program Outline
Introduction - 5 minutes
This section will provide the audience with the purpose & goal of the CRS training program. The audience will be introduced to the
facilitators and to CRS Temporary Housing. The objectives of the CRS training program are to identify pros and cons of various temporary
housing choices, review key steps in the temporary housing process, address common challenges that may arise and discuss what to look for in a quality temporary housing provider. The facilitators will present a case study that will be used as an example throughout the training.
Group Exercise - 20 minutes
This section will be a brainstorming session. Based on the case study presented in Section I, the facilitators will discuss four different temporary housing options with the audience. The audience will then break up into four groups, select a temporary housing option and analyze the option according to the displaced policyholder's needs. The objective is to determine the pros and cons of each temporary housing solution.
Key Steps in the Temporary Housing Process - 20 minutes
Upon completion of finding the best solution for the displaced policyholder in Section II, the facilitators continue to walk the participants through the many key steps in the temporary housing process beginning with the initial property loss. The focus throughout this section is to determine ways to save the claims representative time, to minimize the temporary housing expense and to provide a high level of customer service to the policyholder.
Challenges -15 minutes
In this section, the facilitators open up with group discussion on the potential challenges for the adjuster, the policyholder, or third party vendor throughout the temporary housing process. The objective is to educate the adjuster on the critical steps and offer various solutions to these challenges.
Attributes of a Quality Housing Provider -10 minutes
This section focuses on providing the adjuster with a list of criteria to use as a tool when selecting a temporary housing provider.
Review - 5 minutes
The facilitators summarize various temporary housing options, key steps and the purpose and function of a quality temporary housing provider.
Questions - 15 minutes
At the close of every training program, the CRS facilitators leave ample time for participant questions, discussion, feedback and personal experiences with the temporary housing process. In addition, the facilitators provide each participant with CRS information and reference material.
